Getting a Word in Edgeways

Talk Talk

I hear what you are saying
Your words are loud and clear
Please talk to me – not at me
I’m listening and I hear

Yes, talking is essential
They say “It’s good” I know
But take a time to listen
And not just “I told you so”

You have my full attention
I listen to what you say
Remember that conversations
Should really be two way

I hear what you are saying
Your words are loud and clear
Please talk to me – not at me
I’m listening and I hear

The Visit

A Sign

He was here again
His presence filled the room
There’s no mistaking that perfume

He’s always here
Inside my head and in my heart
Good memories for the greater part

He’s always here
Though when I try to think of him
I’m sad because the image starts to dim

He was here again
A single feather floated down
A sign to say “smile, do not frown”

He was here.

Money Can't Buy Me Love

The Trophy Wife

He sees her through every man’s eyes
And views her as his personal prize
He wears her proudly on his arm
Considers her his lucky charm

She’s ornamental, she looks the part
There’s no connection of the heart
She keeps the home a tidy place
She holds her tongue and knows her place

He goes to work and works so hard
She goes to town on his credit card
